Like most people, myself included, you probably want to quit when you do not see results from exercise. If that sounds familiar, it could be that you are following a program that is not right for you. Everyone has different goals, schedules and fitness levels and can not follow the same plan. It has to fit you. One of the top ten ways to stick with an exercise program is to develop a program that gets results.
Before your get started, decide the following:
- Type: Choose the right type of exercise (walking, jogging, yoga, strength training) to meet YOUR goals.
- Intensity: Determine how hard to include the appropriate heart rate.
- Duration: Set the appropriate length of time for your work out. You may need to work longer or shorter.
- Frequency: Decide how many days a week you can commit to give.
A few small changes in your type, intensity, duration and frequency may be all you need to get results. When you see results, you will be more likely to stick to an exercise program.
