Fears are sneaky and can creep up on us when we are least expecting them! As I shared in my last blog, open your heart to what God has for us, my journey to becoming a Life Purpose Coach in addition to Wellness Coaching. I was passionate about the process, but as the training began, I started to fill overwhelmed. You see, I was moving out of my comfort zone. Even though I knew God had put something in my heart to do, I thought it would just come easy. Really? If that were the case, why would I need to rely on Him? To be transparent, I was letting the challenge stop me from walking out His purpose for me. It was the challenge of fear that was holding me back.
As I remained stuck in fear, I had to constantly remind myself of my life verse.
“He who began a good work in me will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
He started His work in me a long ago and was not meant to be wrapped up in a one quick step. It was a journey.
Yes, I completed my training, gained my license, and began coaching. But one once again, I did not pursue with gusto. Why? Back to my one thing that would stop me:
- Fear of not being perfect
- Fear of not having control
- Fear of the unknown
All of which centered around me and not the Lord. How quickly I can forget the Lords words.
Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Can I share that there will be times when we know what God would have us to do, but we can allow obstacles like fear, impatience, pasts hurts, grief, bitterness, and shame keep us from walking freely in all that God has for us. Yes, there will be challenges in getting healthy and pursing the work God’s has prepared for each of us to do, but He will equip us with His power and might, not our own.
I want to encourage you to pause for a moment in the hustle of today and think about what could be stopping you from living out God’s purpose?
Could it be:
- Fear of the unknown?
- Fear of failure and giving up?
- Fear of being different from other women?
- Fear of lacking ability and talents?
- Fear of facing past hurts, un-forgivness, bitterness, shame and guilt?
- Fear of imperfections?
- Fear of losing control?
What would happen if you decided to bust out of a place of being stuck? What would happen if you decided to live a healthy lifestyle physically (to the best of your ability), emotionally and mentally while taking a step toward God’s purpose for you?
God has a design for your life. He created you with gifts and talents to complete a specific job in this season of life. I want you to know, not just as a coach but someone who has had to walk though it, you can tackle those fears, with God’s strength, and live a life of purpose and good health.
