Summer is here, but it seems like hectic schedules and things to do are still on the minds of so many women……me included. When life gets crazy or there is an unexpected change, I want to shout, “I am overwhelmed: what will I do?”
Surely, as a busy woman, you have felt this way. It would be so easy to say, “forget it all; never mind.” Isn’t that what the enemy would want? He would love for me to say, “I give up or ignore the next step the Lord is calling me to do in obedience to Him because it is just too hard.
When it gets too much, I have to take a deep breath and remember two things.
1. What is a priority in life right now and what can I put on hold?
2. God’s word.
Hebrews 13:5 says, God will never leave me or nor forsake me. Would the Lord really call me to do something and not provide the resources? I must surrender and submit my time to him to be used for His purpose.
What about you?
Are there things that you know it is time for you to do in obedience such as:
- Give of your time and resources
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise
- Take care of your body
I Corinthians 6:19
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.
- Step out and begin a calling God has placed in your heart
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
If you are ready, but feeling a little overwhelmed, what is it that you must submit? For me today, when I feel overwhelmed, what will I do?
I will submit my time and fears to the Lords and let him direct my path and pray.
Although I do not know the full plan, I give up control and pray Psalms 148:3
“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you, Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.”
